Do you ever struggle with how you see yourself? At the end of the day are you looking at what went wrong instead of what went right?
No matter what kind of day you have had, the kind of day filled with all of the moments that bring joy to your heart and a smile to your face. Or a day filled with sorrow, frustrations, a day that seems like it will never end. A day in which you held it together or a day in which you totally lost it and feel like the worst person to ever walk the face the of the earth. God holds you close to His heart. Listen to these beautiful promises in Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Over and over again God comes to us to show us how much he loves us and that He longs for us…He waits for us. You are loved beyond measure. In Romans 8 at the end of the chapter we are reminded that nothing can separate us from the Love of God. He does not hold our sins against us.
Do you struggle with guilt and shame?
Satan loves to wickedly whisper words of doubt in your ear, “Are you sure God has forgiven you?” Gleefully he reminds you of your sins and failures. Despair begins to wrap its ugly tentacles around your mind and attempts to choke out the truth; you are forgiven. Feelings of shame and guilt become a burden too heavy for you to carry. In fact, you were never meant to carry them.
I want us to take a look at the story of the Prodigal Son. Luke 15: 11-32
Place yourself into the story, we are the prodigal son, and at times we can be the older brother. Let’s observe how the Father/God responds to both of His sons.
We are created in God’s own image and yet we struggled because we have created God in our image. We are stuck in the way we see things, not the way God sees us. He loves you and forgives you completely. Take the time to listen to the podcast and be reminded that God delights in you.
